Introduction
Welcome to the Aquarium documentation. Learn how to set up and use real-time language translation in your Discord server.
Welcome to Aquarium
Aquarium is a Discord bot that enables real-time language translation in your server. Members can chat in their preferred language, and their messages are automatically translated to dedicated channels for other languages.
What is Aquarium?
Aquarium creates a language immersion experience in your Discord server:
- Real-time translation - Messages are translated instantly using DeepL's advanced AI
- Dedicated channels - Each language gets its own channel for a clean experience
- Webhook delivery - Translations appear as natural messages with the user's name and avatar
- 9 languages supported - English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese
How it works
- User posts a message in any language channel (e.g., #english)
- Aquarium detects the source language
- Message is translated to all other enabled languages
- Translations appear in the corresponding channels via webhooks
This allows members who speak different languages to communicate seamlessly. A Spanish speaker can post in #spanish, and English speakers will see the translation in #english - and vice versa.
