Characters are counted from the source message before translation. Each message is translated to all enabled target languages, so a 100-character message to 8 languages uses 800 characters of your quota.
Yes! You can change your plan at any time. When upgrading, you'll be charged a prorated amount. When downgrading, the change takes effect at the end of your billing period.
When you reach your character limit, new messages in immersion channels won't be translated until your quota resets at the start of the next month. Users will be notified with a friendly message.
